After working in the UX space for almost a decade, I've realised that design education needs to change. People are being promised jobs out of bootcamps. Or they go to universities where they are going deep into debt, only to be unprepared for the job market.
Working in design is one of the most subjective fields you could work in. How success is defined in one place, could be totally different in another job setting.

In this course, I break down my process that I apply to design projects. This is not your typical design course. I designed for this course to be everything I wish I had in the hard moments through out my time working in the field.
After taking this course you will have a better understanding about the skills actually needed to navigate big tech or startups as a Product or UX Designer. But you will also have a better understanding of why you do what you do, within the space of design, if you're willing to reflect on that. What content is in the course?
I share some of the most important lessons I've learned from being a designer over my ten years working at places like Fandango, Salesforce and LinkedIn. I share the processes and mind shifts that have worked for me, while reminding you that doesn't mean you have to take the same approach. The goal is to help you create your own process toward crafting your career. Because like human beings, all organisations and people function very differently. And you have to learn to adapt, while developing your own perspective on design to reach your own definition of success.
I've mentored hundreds of designers and I've realised there seems to be a gap between the curriculum of traditional education systems, bootcamps and real world design jobs.
The course content touches on many aspects of being a Product and UX designer such as the realities of the work we do, to navigating ambiguity with a lack of research that your team might not have. Over the years I've learned that the double diamond process taught in schools doesn't work in the real world - its aspirational for us designers, but not realistic based on the nuances of every company or team you work within.
In the course, I breakdown the adaptive frameworks I've used in my experience to get design work done on the job at mid to large sized tech companies. If you don't know where to start when it comes to learning about design and you feel overwhelmed, my hope is that once you go through the course, you can start to execute on projects with more confidence.
Which in turn, give you more gusto in how you show up overall as a creative. Does that mean my process will help you get a job? By no means! Its tough out there. But I believe it will build your spirit and it will serve as a foundation toward what you are personally reaching toward. Not the success of other designers you may admire, but your own interpretation of what that means for you.
